Ahh, the microwave — it is a hard worker in the kitchen, but doesn’t always get the love it deserves. 🙂 Today we are going to use our 15- minute blitz to show some love to our microwaves!
Use a paper towel to get any crumbs or excess gunk that you can wipe up.
Backstory: I have previously used the lemon juice in a bowl of water and the vinegar in a bowl of water and honestly, have never been thrilled with the level of steam that either one produced. So in my research for this post, I found an article that suggested a whole new way to clean your microwave. I tried it out and was really happy with the level of steam produced to clean. So credit where credit is due, kudos to Jeff Flowers. Read his article here.
So here’s the skinny: Get a bunch of paper towels. I learned the hard way that you need to fold them to fit your microwave BEFORE you completely soak them with water. Lay wet paper towels on your microwave turntable and microwave for 5 minutes. NOTE: these will be super duper hot. AFter they cool a little, use them to wipe down the inside of your microwave. Wash the turntable or run it through the dishwasher.
Way to go, Idaho! Clean microwave that you wouldn’t be embarrassed to show someone.
